Are You Thinking of Skin Photo Rejuvenation?
Many people have never heard of skin photo rejuvenation or know what it is. This rejuvenation process is also called IPL (intense pulsed light) because it uses intense pulsed light in certain areas to remove dark, decrease the size of your pores and can even remove wrinkles. This makes your skin look overall smoother and younger looking. At our Angel Gloss Clinic in Toronto the technician can explain the process to you and help you decide whether it is right for you or not.
Skin photo rejuvenation is done by sending a pulse of intense light that penetrates deep into the layers of your skin. The light is generated into heated power that is soaked up by the damaged areas of your skin such as age and sun spots, creases, and veins close to the top of the skin that is visible. The light actually encourages the creation of the body’s natural collagen to get rid of these areas you want removed. The procedure will reduce the size of your pores, wrinkles, and lines as well as getting rid of the dark spots.
What Are These Treatments Good For?
You can use skin photo rejuvenation for many problems. The most common uses are to lighten and get rid of age and sun spots, and blotches on the face, neck, chest and hands. Another way that skin rejuvenation is used is to lighten the blush of rosacea, which is a redness of the face from dilated blood vessels. The technicians at our Toronto based Angel Gloss Clinic can also control flushing if it is a constant problem for you. It removes the rosiness of the blood vessels and stimulates the collagen that decreases pores and helps dry up oily skin as well.
How Long Does Skin Photo Rejuvenation Work?
It may take a few treatments about four to six weeks apart to achieve the results you want, but after that it can last for years when done by Angel Gloss Clinic. Of course this depends on the magnitude of the problem, so if you have a lot of redness from rosacea or sun damage you may need up to five treatments, each about a month apart. Also, once you get the results you want it is up to you to take care of your skin and not get too much sun exposure. The better you take care of your skin the better it will look.
What Should I Expect?
First, a technician in our clinic will use a gel on your skin and they will give you eye protective glasses to wear. Then the light will be pulsed into the skin until they cover the area to be treated. It lasts approximately a half an hour and you can go back to work of whatever you want to do immediately, but try to cover your skin with sun protectant of SPF 30 or higher to block the sun.
